The Compass of Honor Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is leading the development of Freedom Point – Veterans Memorial Park. Our mission is to honor and preserve the stories of military service members and first responders, inspire thoughtful reflection, and strengthen our community’s connection to the nation’s proud legacy of service.
To create a lasting tribute that honors all who have served while educating the public and uniting the community around shared values of service, sacrifice, and patriotism.
Freedom Point will be located in a section of Lions Park just south of the pickleball courts near the intersection of Central Avenue and 8th Avenue. Fundraising continues for the project, which is tentatively scheduled for completion in 2026.
The design includes a central Soldiers Cross monument, service branch flags, engraved pavers, personalized plaques, reflection benches, and landscaped paths. Future phases may include interactive displays and educational components. Learn more on the about page.
Estimated for 2026, depending on fundraising and permitting timelines.
